Still with giant bezels (BEZELS?) and home button.
A12 bionic CPU, gen 1 Apple Pencil.
This looks like the body from the previous gen iPad Air, which is significantly nicer look and feel than the previous 10.2” 7th gen and 9.7” 6th gen that preceded it.
It’s still a good iPad for schools and kids.
iPad OS 14
Lots of great pencil updates with selecting, entering, editing, copy and paste
Only Apple device with this new generation 5nm CPU.
ATP had a good analysis from John Siracusa on why this “base” A14 may not be as far ahead of the A12Z as people think, so it’s possible this isn’t quite the upset over the current iPad Pros as people may assume.
64 GB and 256 GB.
Not a great camera at all.
It’s actually a new body and not just the body from the 11” iPad Pro, but it has the same iPad Pro design language.
The colors. Oh, the colors.
Touch ID in the power button instead of Face ID. Given my constant inability to locate the buttons on my iPad Pro, I don’t know if I’d like that. I’d like it in an iPhone, but I don’t know about on an iPad.
10.9” screen. Not quite as bright and no pro-motion refresh rate
